The candidate will be responsible for designing and performing experimental procedures aimed at investigating how the dopamine neurons are altered in disease models using in vivo calcium imaging, behavioural analysis, confocal and super-resolution microscopy, drug administration, blood collection, euthanasia and brain/organ collection, etc. To achieve these goals, the candidate will be expected to provide new ideas and suggestions by reading the literature related to this project. Examples of experimental procedures include optimising new circuit labelling approaches, developing novel behavioural paradigms, and generating new transgenic mouse models. The incumbent is expected to quantify, analyze, and present experiment results at lab meetings or in peer-reviewed publications. Based on intellectual contribution, the research assistant will be given the opportunity to be an author on any publication that will derive from the work performed. In addition to performing these experiments, the candidate will be involved in the maintenance of our mouse colony (e.g. breeding, weaning, and genotyping), ordering, and providing technical guidance and training to undergraduate students.
