Cookie Policy
What cookies areCookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Sites also use similar browser storage (like localStorage) for the same purposes. This page describes everything Seekless stores in your browser, what each entry does, and the choices you have.
Storage that is always setThese entries are set whatever you choose in the cookie banner. Most are needed for Seekless to work; error monitoring and page-load measurement keep it running well:
Authentication cookiesSet by our sign-in provider (Clerk) to keep you signed in and protect your account from fraudulent use. Clerk also keeps your sign-in token in localStorage so you stay signed in between visits.
Theme (cs cookie, sk-theme)Remembers your light/dark mode choice so pages render in the right theme. It is a cookie stored for up to one year, and the same choice in localStorage.
Recent searches (sk-recent-searches)Your last few searches, so the search box can offer them again. Stored in localStorage on your device only, and cleared when you sign out.
Column widths (seekless.workspaceColumns)Remembers how wide you made the side columns of an application or your career profile. They open at that width next time. Stored in localStorage on your device only.
Cookie choice (seekless.cookieConsent, seekless.cookieConsentVersion)Records whether you allowed or declined cookies, and which banner you answered, so we do not ask again. If the banner changes what “Allow cookies” covers, we ask once more. Stored in localStorage.
Checked résumé (seekless.carriedResume)Set only if you pick a job from the free résumé checker's results to tailor your résumé to. Your browser holds the file you checked, so you do not have to choose it again after you sign up. Stored in IndexedDB on your device, and deleted when you import it into your account, when you sign out or after an hour.
Sign-out marker (seekless.intentionalSignOutAt)Remembers that you signed out on purpose, so the site does not treat it as an expired session. Stored in sessionStorage.
Email preferences link (seekless.emailToken)The link in our emails to your email settings carries a code. The page moves that code out of the address bar and keeps it here, so the page still works if you reload it. Stored in sessionStorage and cleared when the tab closes.
Back-button history (seekless.navLedger)Remembers the pages you opened in this tab and which bottom tab each belongs to. The installed app's own back button then returns to the page you came from, and the tab bar highlights the right tab. Stored in sessionStorage and cleared when the tab closes.
Tab memory (seekless.tabMemory)For signed-in users: remembers where you were in each bottom tab (Search, Jobs, Career, Account), so tapping a tab returns you there. Stored in sessionStorage, cleared when you sign out and when the tab closes.
Upgrade origin (seekless.upgradeOrigin)When a plan limit or a Get Pro button sends you to the plans page, remembers the page you were on, so the page after checkout can take you back there. Stored in sessionStorage, used once, and dropped after 30 minutes or when the tab closes.
Once-per-tab markers (seekless.jobView…, seekless.engagedVisit, seekless.jobPanelClosed…, seekless.resumeCheckConversion, seekless.redditResumeCheckConversion)Stop the same event being counted twice in one tab. Stored in sessionStorage and cleared when the tab closes.
Error monitoring (Grafana Faro)Seekless's own error monitoring, which runs whatever you choose. It keeps a random session id in sessionStorage. It reports errors and console warnings, and sign-in attempts and their outcome. It also reports performance timings (including the addresses of what the page loads), page addresses (a search page's address includes the search) and the site you came from. These go to Seekless's own servers, where they are kept for 30 days.
Cloudflare bot protection (__cf_bm cookie)A short-lived cookie set by our network provider, Cloudflare, to tell people from automated traffic.
Cloudflare Web AnalyticsOur network provider, Cloudflare, adds a script to each page that measures how fast pages load. It runs whatever you choose.
Analytics storage (optional)We use PostHog, served through our own domain, to understand how people use Seekless. It shows which pages are visited, which features are used, and where things break. Analytics data may be retained for up to 24 months, as described in our Privacy Policy.Analytics storage is set only after you choose “Allow cookies” in the consent banner. When allowed, PostHog keeps a small cookie and localStorage entry (prefixed ph_). It holds a random identifier and session details, so your visits can be counted as one person. PostHog also starts recording clicks, with the clicked text masked.Until you make a choice, analytics runs in memory only. Page views and feature events are measured during your visit, but no clicks are recorded. Nothing is written to your device, and the identifier is discarded when you close the page.If you decline, PostHog is turned off in your browser: it collects no events there and stores nothing. Seekless's server still sends PostHog events about what you do on Seekless and the searches you run. Examples are viewing, saving or applying for a job, uploading a résumé, and buying Pro. They are anonymous if you are signed out, and tied to your account if you are signed in.Whatever you choose, PostHog never records your session, your screen or your browser console.
Advertising pixels (optional)Seekless measures its own ads with pixels from the ad platforms below. They load only after you choose “Allow cookies”, never while your browser sends Global Privacy Control, and each may set its own cookies. They report the pages you visit (a search page's address includes the search), job views, engaged visits, sign-ups and free résumé check completions. They never report what is in your résumé.Declining or resetting your choice stops them from loading from the next page you open. It does not delete cookies they already set. You can clear those in your browser's settings.Separately, and whatever you choose: if you arrive from an ad, Seekless remembers which ad it was. It keeps the ad's click identifier and the page you landed on in localStorage (seekless.adClickIds, seekless.adLandingPath) and, once you sign in, with your account. The campaign that brought you is kept for the visit in sessionStorage (seekless.campaignAttribution). And if you arrived from a Reddit ad, Seekless's server reports your Pro purchase to Reddit. The report carries the ad's click identifier and a hashed form of your email address and account id. It is not sent if the checkout was opened with Global Privacy Control on. The Privacy Policy explains how to opt out of this.

Your choicesThe consent banner appears on your first visit and whenever no choice is recorded. You can change your mind at any time. Use the reset button below to clear your choice and any analytics storage, then pick again when the banner reappears.
