Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of inpatient behavioral health, psychiatric stabilization, detoxification, addiction recovery, crisis response, and trauma-informed nursing practices.
•
Ability to assess patient acuity, prioritize competing needs, coordinate staffing resources, and escalate concerns appropriately during assigned shifts.
•
Skilled in communicating clearly and professionally with nursing staff, behavioral health support staff, providers, patients, families, and leadership during routine operations and high-pressure situations.
•
Ability to support team members through real-time guidance, coaching, problem-solving, and role clarification while deferring formal performance management to designated supervisory leadership.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
•
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida, or eligibility to obtain Florida RN licensure prior to employment.
•
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
•
Minimum of three (3) years of professional nursing experience required, with experience in inpatient behavioral health, psychiatric, crisis stabilization, detoxification, substance use disorder treatment, or addiction recovery services strongly preferred.
•
Prior charge nurse, shift lead, or comparable clinical leadership experience preferred.
This position provides shift-based leadership and clinical coordination but does not serve as the direct supervisor or manager of record for assigned staff. Applicant must maintain active Florida RN licensure and meet all organizational, regulatory, and continuing education requirements applicable to inpatient behavioral health and addiction treatment services.
Supervisory Requirements:
This position does not have direct supervisory authority for hiring, corrective action, performance evaluations, disciplinary decisions, or employment status changes. The role provides shift-based clinical leadership, operational coordination, staffing support, and real-time guidance to promote safe and effective patient care.
Successful completion of background screening, fingerprinting, new hire orientation, required competencies, annual education, crisis prevention training, licensure verification, and other training requirements in accordance with Florida requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policy.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Work is performed in an office, clinical, residential, and/or community-based environment depending on role and assignment. The position may involve routine use of office, clinical, or electronic systems and equipment. Duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts based on program needs. This position is classified as sedentary work. Sedentary work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
