Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counselor Education, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field. One year of experience in academic advising, student success, counseling, orientation, retention, or other student services functions within a higher education setting preferred. Relevant graduate internships may be considered toward the required experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access, with the ability to effectively utilize technology to support student outreach, communication, record management, and advising functions.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with students, families, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
Working knowledge of the Appreciative Advising framework and its application to student engagement, academic success, retention, and developmental advising practices is strongly preferred.
