A Day in the Life
Labeling Process - Data management in LMD, system interfaces, and template design in Spectrum.
About the role
Provides technical and sustaining engineering support in a labeling area supporting the product design and manufacturing areas. This may include utilization of programming languages to develop scripts that process data and generate specific labeled outputs.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities
•
Lead cross-functional collaboration and influence the scope of changes and labeling requirements.
•
Own development of the Labeling Plans and related documentation in accordance with overall project implementation plan.
•
Coordinate project plan for labeling activities to meet timelines and provide inputs and support overall project plan based on label development requirements
•
Clearly communicate product and project requirements to the labeling design team to ensure timely and accurate execution of key deliverables.
•
Review product labeling including labels, cartons, IFUs and other related materials ensuring that they meet all business, medical, legal, and regulatory requirements and standards for medical devices.
•
Manage the review and approval process for all new and revised labeling content.
•
Understands applicable global labeling regulations and standards.
•
Coordinate the translations of non-IFU labeling through internal or external sources.
•
Provide input in the creation of and compliance with standards and documented procedures for labeling development, revision and overall document management.
•
Conceives, designs, lays out, and coordinates editorial illustrations and creative artwork.
•
Develops interpretive themes that convey ideas and information.
•
Creates graphic presentations that communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint, and similar visual impressions.
•
Provides guidance on graphic technology.
•
Works closely with internal company contacts to understand requirements and create cost efficient graphic designs through available mediums.
•
May provide computer graphic services for web artwork.
•
May also have responsibility or input on reproduction and printing processes through in-house resources or outside vendors.
•
Recommends and implements equipment and label system process modifications to meet quality standards and improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques as well as production yields for products.
•
Integrates equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications.
•
Reviews product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to ensure quality output.
•
Interacts with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.
•
May develop and conduct statistical analysis, material qualifications, or recommend additions to document work.
•
Leads the innovation, development and/or optimization of label design and label production processes and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations.
•
This can include scouting and feasibility work, material selection, process and equipment selection, tooling / fixture and equipment installation and assessment of inputs, outputs and alignment to requirements.
•
Develops processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques including the measurement systems.
•
Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience).

•
Experience with JavaScript or other programming languages
•
Experience with Loftware Spectrum labeling software
•
Package Engineering experience
•
System process development
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
