Position Overview
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician (Electrical) plays a critical role in maintaining and improving plant reliability. This position focuses heavily on electrical troubleshooting, working with motors, drives, schematics, and 575V circuits. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on electrical experience, the ability to diagnose complex issues, and confidence working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
While electrical expertise is the priority, the role also includes mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and general facility maintenance tasks. You will support both mid-day and afternoon operations, ensuring equipment uptime and safe performance across the plant.
What You’ll Do
•
Electrical troubleshooting on production equipment, motors, drives, circuits, and control systems up to 575V.
•
Instrumentation & process equipment diagnostics to support continuous plant operations.
•
Emergency and scheduled repairs to minimize downtime and maintain safe equipment performance.
•
Mechanical support including belts, bearings, minor fabrication, and basic machinist tasks.
•
Preventive maintenance on machinery, facility systems, and electrical alarms.
•
PLC troubleshooting (basic level; proprietary systems experience is an asset).
•
Safety compliance including lockout/tagout and maintaining organized work areas.
•
Facility maintenance including support for renovations, updates, and building systems.
•
Equipment hazard assessment and communication with management.
•
Perform work at heights using ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, booms, and roof access.
What You Bring
•
High school diploma or equivalent.
•
Minimum 2 years of relevant maintenance experience; Red Seal is an asset but not required.
