What You’ll Do:
• Develops tests, automation solutions, and architectural decisions for sophisticated, defined platforms, infrastructure, or products with a focus on security, scalability, and high-performance
• May lead projects from end-to-end through delegation, review, and getting results holistically
• Initiates and drives solutions for closed loop corrective actions for a portfolio of products
• Demonstrates solid understanding and knowledge in multiple domains
• Writes functional clean code and unit tests with no guidance
• Maintains and enhances solutions by fixing complicated errors, raising risks and escalating issues where necessary
• Identifies immediate and larger scope problems through thorough code reviews
• Tests and reviews code to optimize scale, velocity, and reliability of deliverables
• Contributes to threat modeling of a feature
• Designs and plans quality assurance across various environments with thorough understanding of product expectations and business needs
• Conducts risk-based evaluation of non-feature characteristics of a product
• Provides recommendations to testing plans based on standard methodologies (e.g., shifting left) to ensure early quality implementation
• Applies in-depth understanding of product design/implementation to advise junior team members on the wider ramifications of change across all products
• Works with development teams to define testing standard methodologies and propose new frameworks for testing different aspects of the product (e.g., performance, chaos, stability, load, and loss)
• Performs test cases and test plans for major projects, and coordinates within group for on-time completion
• Reports issues/findings to developers, product managers, or other teams along with gaps in testing resources, root cause analysis, and viable software solutions
• Collaborates with product management and product development to communicate design bugs and identify potential solutions; integrates CI/CD methodologies into all processes
• Develops innovative solutions that tackle complex technical design flaws and advocates for the inclusion of additional innovation in future designs
• Identifies and socializes opportunities for improvements across the broader quality assurance rigor
• Reviews test plans and customer-facing documentation
• Synthesizes key messages and communicates testing insights to stakeholders
• Follows defined procedures and standard methodologies for document review
• Creates, collects, interprets, and addresses dashboard metrics, and communicates key findings with teams
• Mentors peers or more junior team members
• Assists other engineers through code reviews, documentation, and technical guidance
• Experienced professional using standard processes and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services
• Works independently, but receives guidance and direction from leader then determines best approach to accomplish work
