Job Title: Senior Solution Architect / Senior Consultant - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Location: China (primary work location; travel within Greater China and APAC as required)
Requirements
Experience: 8-15 years of relevant experience, including substantial customer-facing ERP consulting or presales experience
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, client-facing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central professional to support our growth and customer engagements in China. The role combines solution architecture, presales, functional consulting and technical advisory responsibilities, with a strong focus on understanding the operating environment, business practices and stakeholder expectations of customers in China. The successful candidate will engage with customers in Mandarin and English, lead discovery workshops, design end-to-end solutions, deliver compelling demonstrations and proposals, and work closely with local, regional and global sales and delivery teams. The candidate should be comfortable advising senior stakeholders and translating business, statutory, localisation, integration and reporting requirements into practical solution approaches.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Consulting
•
Lead requirement discovery workshops and business process discussions with customers in China. • Design end-to-end solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power Platform and relevant Microsoft or partner technologies.
•
Assess China-specific statutory, tax, invoicing, banking, reporting, data and operational requirements, and recommend suitable localisation or partner solutions where required.
•
Recommend standard practices, industry-aligned processes and pragmatic solution options based on customer requirements.
•
Prepare solution architecture documents, process flows, fit-gap outputs, implementation approaches and solution roadmaps.
•
Provide functional and technical guidance to local and regional delivery teams throughout the opportunity and project lifecycle.
Presales & Business Development
•
Support China and APAC sales teams during opportunity qualification, discovery and solution positioning.
•
Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, solution walkthroughs and proof-of-concept sessions in Mandarin and English.
•
Prepare solution proposals, scope documents, assumptions, implementation estimates and response content for RFPs and RFIs.
•
Collaborate with Microsoft, local partners and internal stakeholders to shape competitive and commercially viable solutions.
•
Contribute to reusable China-focused presales assets, demonstration scenarios, industry accelerators and customer success stories.
•
Build trusted relationships with customers and act as a credible solution advisor during the sales cycle. Technical, Integration & Data Advisory
•
Understand integration requirements and propose secure, supportable and scalable solution architectures.
•
Work with technical teams on APIs, automation, extensions, data migration, reporting and integration strategies.
•
Assess integration needs involving local banks, tax or invoicing platforms, e-commerce, logistics, manufacturing, CRM and other enterprise systems.
•
Provide guidance on Power Platform, Power BI, Azure integration services and appropriate Microsoft ecosystem solutions.
•
Participate in solution assurance, architecture reviews, estimation reviews and technical discussions with customers and partners.
China Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
•
Act as the primary solution advisor for customer engagements in China.
•
Engage effectively with CXOs, finance leaders, operations teams, IT stakeholders and business users. • Bridge communication between China-based stakeholders and regional or global teams, ensuring business context and requirements are clearly understood.
•
Adapt workshops, demonstrations and proposals to the customer’s language, local business context and decision-making expectations.
•
Support customer workshops and project discussions onsite or remotely, with travel across China and APAC when required.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
•
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central across solution design, implementation or presales.
•
Working knowledge of core business processes across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Inventory and Operations.
•
Proven experience leading discovery workshops, fit-gap discussions, solution demonstrations and customer presentations.
•
Ability to convert business requirements into solution architecture, scope, assumptions, dependencies and implementation approach.
•
Good understanding of integrations, APIs, extensions, automation, data migration and reporting concepts.
•
Experience supporting proposals, RFPs, effort estimation and commercial solution shaping. • Strong presentation, facilitation, documentation and stakeholder management skills. • Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, including the ability to conduct workshops, demonstrations and business discussions in both languages.
•
Ability to work effectively with cross-cultural, distributed sales, consulting and delivery teams. China Market & Localisation Knowledge
•
Good understanding of business practices and enterprise customer expectations in China. • Experience gathering or assessing China localisation requirements relating to statutory reporting, taxation, invoicing, banking, language and local business processes.
•
Awareness of data security, privacy, hosting and cross-border data considerations relevant to enterprise solution design in China.
•
Ability to identify where standard Business Central capabilities are sufficient and where localised extensions, partner applications or integrations may be required.
•
Existing network or experience working with Microsoft, implementation partners or enterprise customers in China would be an advantage.
Preferred Skills (Good to have)
The following skills would be considered an added advantage:
•
Microsoft Power BI and semantic reporting solutions
•
Jet Reports or similar financial and operational reporting tools
•
Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps
•
Azure integration services and cloud solution architecture
•
Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management or Customer Engagement
•
Experience with manufacturing, distribution, retail, professional services or other industries relevant to the China market
•
Experience in multi-country ERP rollouts and coordination with regional or global template teams
•
Knowledge of Simplified Chinese user enablement, training and documentation requirements
Qualifications
•
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
•
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or related Microsoft certifications are preferred.
•
Relevant presales, solution architecture or project delivery certifications would be an advantage.
