We are looking for exceptional, creative, curious and collaborative Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. You will have the chance to impact products developed for some of the biggest brands in the world while solving complex and ambitious engineering problems.
You will work as part of multi-disciplinary teams that include experts in electronics, software development, mechanical engineering, industrial design and applied science. You will be trusted to contribute across the whole development lifecycle for clients, from early concept generation and technology demonstrators through to product launch and in-field maintenance or improvement.

You will need to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues, explaining complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
You will work across the whole development lifecycle for clients, offering a rare opportunity to gain broad experience from concept to delivery. Recent embedded work across PA has included Zephyr OS, bare-metal systems embedded Linux projects, but clients often approach us with unique challenges that require a creative outlook and an adaptable skill set.
The key technologies for our current projects include low-power embedded platforms, connected devices, wireless communications, battery-powered systems, wearable technologies and close integration between software, electronics and mechanical design.
This is an embedded software role that sits close to the product and the hardware. It will be especially attractive to engineers who enjoy working across software, electronics and the real-world constraints of product development.
We are looking for candidates with the following technical skills:

A proven track record of developing and implementing software for embedded systems using modern professional workflows.
•
Expertise in C, C++ or Rust programming, together with good experience in Python. Experience in other languages is also beneficial.
•
Practical experience across a range of embedded platforms, which may include RTOS environments such as Zephyr OS, embedded Linux and bare-metal systems on microcontrollers and multi-core SoCs.
•
Experience with test-driven development methodologies and both automated and manual testing techniques.
•
Experience with CI/CD methodologies is beneficial.
•
Well versed in a breadth of communications protocols, such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi etc
•
Demonstrable experience generating software design documentation.
•
Comfortable using device datasheets, and able to work with digital electronics, schematics and hardware engineers during bring-up and integration.
•
Experienced in full product lifecycle development, from concept generation through to product launch and in-field maintenance or improvement.
•
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
This is a full-time role based in Bray, Dublin. If successful, you will be expected to work primarily from our offices.
