The Clumio Cloud Engineering team designs, builds, and operates the cloud infrastructure and foundational services that power Clumio’s SaaS platform. The team focuses on delivering secure, reliable, and scalable cloud environments that support a mission-critical data protection service. In this context, infrastructure reliability, operational efficiency, and security are essential requirements rather than optional capabilities.
The team builds cloud-native infrastructure and automation that enable services to scale dynamically with workload demands. This includes systems for provisioning, deployment, observability, and incident response that support large-scale, distributed workloads. By emphasizing automation and standardized operational practices, Cloud Engineering reduces complexity and enables engineering teams to operate services efficiently at scale.
Cloud Engineering operates a mature production environment on AWS and works closely with platform and application teams to support the ongoing evolution of Clumio’s architecture. As Clumio expands into multi-cloud environments including GCP and Azure, the team plays a central role in extending infrastructure patterns, security models, and operational tooling across diverse cloud ecosystems.
As a Senior Engineer on the Clumio Cloud Engineering team, you own and deliver infrastructure components and foundational services within the cloud platform, working under the technical direction of Engineering Director. This role focuses on building correct, maintainable, and production-ready infrastructure systems that are critical to the reliability and security of Clumio’s SaaS platform.
You work on problems that are not always fully specified upfront, translating high-level infrastructure requirements into pragmatic technical implementations. This includes designing and implementing infrastructure services, operating and improving them in production, and making informed trade-offs that balance simplicity, scalability, security, and cost efficiency. Over time, you develop clear ownership of specific infrastructure components or services and increasingly drive infrastructure initiatives end-to-end.
Senior Engineers collaborate closely with Platform and Security teams to ensure infrastructure solutions are robust, secure, and aligned with the operational needs of a mission-critical data protection service. With guidance from Principal Engineers, you contribute to infrastructure design discussions, incorporate operational feedback into system improvements, and grow toward broader technical ownership.
