Video Editor (Reels, TikTok, YouTube & Social Media) – Remote | U.S. Hours
Position Type: Full-Time, Remote
Working Hours: U.S. Business Hours (flexibility for launches and deadlines)
About the Role
At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Video Editor to create engaging, high-performing video content for social media, YouTube, marketing campaigns, and brand channels.
This is a hands-on editing role for someone who understands how to turn raw footage into content that captures attention and keeps viewers watching.
You’ll create:

Instagram Reels

What You’ll Own
Video Editing & Content Creation
•
Edit raw footage into polished, engaging video content
•
Work with tools such as:
•
Adobe Premiere Pro
•
Final Cut Pro
•
DaVinci Resolve
•
Create both short-form and long-form content
•
Maintain strong pacing, story structure, and visual flow
•
Select the strongest footage, cuts, and moments to maximize viewer attention
•
Ensure every final edit meets brand and quality standards
Reels, TikTok & Short-Form Content
Create platform-native videos for:
•
Instagram Reels
•
TikTok
•
YouTube Shorts
•
LinkedIn
•
Social media campaigns
Optimize edits for:
•
Strong opening hooks
•
Audience retention
•
Watch time
•
Engagement
•
Fast pacing
•
Mobile-first viewing
Understand how editing styles differ across platforms and adapt content accordingly.
YouTube & Long-Form Editing
•
Edit longer-form YouTube and marketing content
•
Structure footage into clear, compelling stories
•
Remove unnecessary pauses and improve pacing
•
Incorporate B-roll and supporting visuals where appropriate
•
Create engaging transitions between sections
•
Repurpose long-form videos into short-form social content
Captions, Graphics & Creative Enhancements
Add and optimize:
•
On-screen captions
•
Text overlays
•
Music
•
Sound effects
•
Motion graphics
•
Transitions
•
B-roll
•
Visual effects
Ensure creative elements support the content rather than distract from it.
Maintain consistency with brand tone, marketing objectives, and platform style.
Multi-Platform Formatting & Exporting
Prepare content in formats including:
•
9:16 — Reels, TikTok, Shorts
•
1:1 — Social feeds
•
16:9 — YouTube and web
Optimize exports for:
•
Video quality
•
File size
•
Resolution
•
Platform requirements
•
Mobile viewing
Revisions & Creative Collaboration
•
Collaborate with marketing, content, and creative teams
•
Incorporate client and internal feedback accurately
•
Make revisions efficiently without sacrificing quality
•
Use performance insights to improve future edits
•
Maintain organized project files, footage, and version control
•
Consistently meet content calendars and production deadlines
Required Experience & Skills
Must-Have
•
Professional or freelance video editing experience
•
Strong portfolio demonstrating social media or marketing video work
•
Experience editing short-form vertical content
•
Strong understanding of:
•
Video pacing

Storytelling

Audience retention

Social media content
•
Proficiency with at least one professional editing platform:
•
Adobe Premiere Pro
