Collect, process, analyze, and model rock mass and geotechnical monitoring data to better understand rock mass response to mining activities. Assist in the development, calibration, and application of numerical and analytical geotechnical models to verify rock mass response to mining and interpret modeling results. Perform geotechnical engineering tasks to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and business objectives are achieved, including geotechnical risk assessments and hazard management. Develop growth study documentation and prepare technical material for internal and external technical reviews. Work with short-range, mid-range, and long-range geotechnical teams to collect, analyze, and model rock mass and monitoring data to develop orebody knowledge for excavation stability and mine design optimization. Maintain, review, and continuously improve geotechnical design standards, procedures, and processes. Provide technical support and guidance to operational geotechnical teams. Implement study scopes by managing schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Provide technical direction and feedback on internal and consultant geotechnical design and analysis. Orebody knowledge activities include geotechnical drillhole design, core logging QA/QC coordination, database maintenance, and slope design verification activities to confirm conformance with approved geotechnical design criteria. Perform QA/QC of geotechnical, laboratory, and monitoring datasets and manage geotechnical databases. Lead geotechnical cell mapping campaigns. Strong coordination with external reviewers, including internal and independent reviewers. Implement and maintain systems and processes to monitor and manage triggers for major geotechnical hazards, including geotechnical input to slope design verification to minimize geotechnical risk.
