Responsibilities include:
•
Providing itinerant vision-related education services to students with blindness or visual impairments
•
Delivering individualized instruction, including Braille and orientation & mobility skills
•
Assessing student needs and developing appropriate learning materials and accommodations
•
Adapting curriculum, classroom environments, and materials to ensure accessibility
•
Being an active IEP team member, writing goals, and monitoring progress
•
Conducting functional vision and learning media assessments
•
Planning and implementing lessons tailored to specific eye conditions
•
Maintaining accurate records and submitting required reports to schools and families
•
Acquiring and delivering adaptive equipment, books, and administering assessments with recommendations
•
Collaborating with teachers, service providers, and families to support inclusion and student success
Qualifications:
•
Required License/Certification: Must hold or be eligible for Georgia certification in accordance with Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) certification requirements for a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments and Orientation & Mobility.
