Senior Product Applications Engineer
Analog Devices’ Cloud and Data Center Equipment Business Unit is seeking a motivated and experienced Applications Engineer to support our Power System Management Solutions team based in Shanghai, China.
This role offers the opportunity to work on industry-leading power system management solutions for hyperscale cloud and AI infrastructure customers. Operating at the intersection of power electronics, embedded systems, and customer applications engineering, the Applications Engineer will play a key role in evaluating new silicon products, designing and validating evaluation boards, supporting customers throughout the product development lifecycle, and developing high-quality technical documentation.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a strong foundation in analog and power management systems, demonstrated expertise in embedded systems and firmware development, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for collaborating with both internal development teams and external customers. This position requires a combination of technical expertise and customer engagement to help drive the successful adoption of ADI’s power system management products.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Silicon bench evaluation
• Design and test evaluation boards
• Generate reference design reports for customers
• Review customers’ schematics and PCB layouts
• Technical writing of datasheet and application notes
• Provide technical support to customers in APAC region
• Simulations and lab automation
• Collaborate with global applications team
Minimum qualifications:
• PhD in EE or related field, OR
• BSEE with 5+ years of experience
• Fundamentals on power electronics
• PCB design experience
• Experience with lab equipment
• Coding experience in Python or similar scripting languages
Preferred qualifications:
• PhD with focus on power electronics or related field, OR
• MSEE with 3+ years of applications engineering experience
• Experience with microcontroller-based systems and firmware debugging
• Solid understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design
• Experience with hardware debug/troubleshooting
• Excellent presentation and technical writing skills
• Simulation tools Simplis or LTSpice or matlab
• Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB or similar scripting languages
• Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin
• Experience with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, PMBus)
