Main Responsibilities
Responsibilities
• Participate PHA (PHA Preparation, PHA discussion).
• Participate Machinery risk assessment for functional safety
• Compile General Safety Requirement Specification.
• Develop Safety Required Specifications (SRS) together with other FS experts in project with support from Global PCT FS expert
• Conduct PFD /PFH /PL calculation and SIF verification as required, provide guidance to PCT Lead Engineers/Contractor Engineers for Functional Safety related tasks in assigned Lots, e.g. Codes/Regulation requirement clarification, Provide training on PFD calculation tool, PL calculation tool SIS documentation, SIS evaluation etc…
• Provide functional safety expertise for PTS, check and verify PTS method interval in accordance with SIL calculation, guide project PCT Lead engineers to execute reasonable proof test and extension work;
• Actively contribute to the Functional Safety experience exchange within CISS and with GPCT FS community, for sustainable know-how transfer of functional safety within PCT. e.g. Provide Functional Safety/MS(PCT) training to PCT Lead engineers or Contractor Instrument Engineers in project, coach PCT Lead engineers on FS related tasks, experience exchange within project;
• Support PCT team in fulfilling legal requirements and Covestro global standards with respect to PCT Functional Safety.
• Provide PCT function safety expertise to ensure functional safety compliance with legal requirements and industry standards in related PCT activities in project
• Sustainable competency development in PCT Functional Safety for ENG APAC
• Conduct FS 4 eyes check at the mandatory steps(e.g. PFD Calculations database)
• Evaluate contractor qualifications and support the SIS design for the contractor.
• Support MoC/CDQ and other key activities that require expert advice.

Qualification Requirements (Education & Work Experience)
• Masters or Bachelor degree in instrumentation, automation, electrical or IT Engineering from renowned university
• Work experience 8+ years in process industry, SIS design, HAZOP facilitation
• Has gained during his professional career significant know how in the areas of basic and detail design including interface management with contractors, field engineering support, commissioning and start-up of chemical, petrochemical or related plants;
• Hands-on experience in functional safety. TÜV functional safety certification is preferred.
• Fluent in written and spoken in Chinese and English， including technical English.
• Knowledge of all relevant GB and IEC codes with regard to design and maintenance of PCT systems in chemical and petrochemical plants
• Able to establish priorities, to organize, to work independently, and to proceed according to agreed objectives without continuous supervision
• Exhibits considerable interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
• Project experience: Lead Engineer role or PCT Engineer role in €5 million+ projects
