Security Guard
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and professional Security Guard to help maintain a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, customers, and property. The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring premises, controlling access, conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and enforcing company policies while providing excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•
Patrol assigned buildings, grounds, and parking areas to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activity.
•
Monitor entrances, exits, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems.
•
Control facility access by verifying identification and issuing visitor credentials.
•
Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, disturbances, and security incidents.
•
Investigate suspicious activities and document findings through detailed incident reports.
•
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting employees, visitors, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
•
Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
•
Conduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards or security concerns.
•
Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and management when necessary.
•
Complete daily activity logs and maintain accurate security documentation.
•
Report maintenance, safety, or security issues to appropriate personnel.
•
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
•
High school diploma or GED required.
•
Previous security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience preferred.
•
Valid driver’s license (if required for the assignment).
•
Ability to obtain and maintain all required state security licenses or certifications.
•
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
•
Basic computer proficiency, including email and report writing.
•
Excellent observation and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
•
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
•
Experience operating CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
•
Knowledge of emergency response procedures and incident reporting.
Physical Requirements
•
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
•
Frequently climb stairs, bend, kneel, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
•
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
•
Maintain visual acuity sufficient to observe surroundings and monitor security systems.
Work Environment
•
Indoor and outdoor work environments.
•
May be exposed to varying weather conditions, noise, and emergency situations.
•
Must be available to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
