Senior Solution Engineer (Pre-Sales), Remote – UK
As a Senior Solution Engineer covering UKI, you’ll be the bridge between the Boomi platform and the diverse needs of our clients. Working closely with the sales team, you’ll own the technical solution proposed to each client, bringing expertise across one or more areas of integration, API management, automation, and AI-driven capabilities to shape how businesses connect, automate, and intelligently orchestrate their processes. You’ll navigate the political and structural complexity of large enterprise organisations, balancing high-level business conversations with the ability to go deep technically. Your role is pivotal in crafting and demonstrating tailored strategies that resonate with everyone from technical architects to C-suite executives, ensuring our solutions align perfectly with customer objectives, today’s requirements, and tomorrow’s roadmap.
Responsibilities
•
Run discovery calls, meetings, and workshops to understand client business and technical requirements across integration, API management, and automation use cases. Capture feedback to guide solution design and monitor client satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.

Design tailored solutions across the Boomi platform, spanning integration and automation (including data integration and managed file transfer), API management, event-driven and streaming architectures, and AI capabilities (including agentic and GenAI-powered automation). Bring solutions to life through demos and PoCs that map directly to client needs, ensuring every solution aligns with industry best practices for integration, API governance, and data management.

Act as the platform expert across the Boomi platform, advising clients on how to align integration, API management, and AI and agentic capabilities with their business goals to maximize value from their investment. Mentor junior consultants on solution design, lead technical discussions with stakeholders, and stay ahead of emerging trends in AI-driven integration and API strategy to keep client solutions competitive and future-ready.

Bridge technical and business conversations, translating complex concepts such as API management, AI orchestration, and integration architecture into language non-technical stakeholders can act on. Gather stakeholder feedback to inform product improvement, and run regular status updates to keep deals and projects moving.
Requirements and skills
•
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
•
Experience in a client-facing, enterprise solution consulting or pre-sales role
•
Experience working with business process automation, integration, and data management
•
Genuine enterprise experience, having worked large, complex deals lasting 9+ months or more
•
Background in technical selling or vendor-based pre-sales, ideally within iPaaS, integration, or API management, or with a direct competitor
•
Working knowledge of API management concepts (design, gateway/proxy patterns, security, lifecycle) — hands-on Boomi CAM/APIM experience a strong plus
•
Familiarity with how AI/GenAI is being applied to integration and automation (e.g. AI-assisted mapping, agentic workflows, intelligent document/data processing)
•
Proven ability to design, optimize, and demo workflows and solution architectures
•
Experience running technical workshops and translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
•
Strong stakeholder management skills, both internal (Professional Services, Boomi teams) and external (customers, GSIs, partners)
•
Track record mentoring junior consultants and leading technical stakeholder conversations
•
Demonstrated business transformation impact — solutions that measurably increased efficiency or revenue
•
Ability to lead and deliver complex, multi-stakeholder projects to completion
•
Strong history of client satisfaction and long-term engagement
Bonus points if you have:
•
French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or German language skills
•
Experience in value-based selling
•
Software engineering / development background
•
Exposure to API management platforms (e.g. Apigee, MuleSoft Anypoint, Azure APIM) or AI/LLM-based automation tooling
•
Genuine enthusiasm for shaping the digital transformation of large organisations through integration, APIM, and AI
