Provide engaging, innovative college-readiness instruction aligned with the GED® (General Education Development) test to help prepare students for the GED in Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. Responsible to prepare and deliver coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success and creating an environment that promotes belonging for all.
Instruction may be delivered in person at designated ACC regions—Central, North, and South campuses—and online, as assigned. Faculty must meet all professional standards in accordance with college policies and procedures.
Austin Community College’s High School Equivalency (HSE/GED®) program provides academic classes designed to prepare adult learners to pass their GED exams and earn a state-recognized credential. The program covers core test subjects—Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies—while integrating direct pathways to higher education and workforce training. Instructors focus on building academic confidence and practical skills, equipping students with the tools needed for long-term career advancement and post-secondary success.
