You have a strong point of view on design and an unusually high bar for quality.
You understand typography, composition, hierarchy, spacing, motion, and visual systems—and you know what makes a website feel premium, modern, and intentional.
Web-First Design You love designing for the web.
You understand that great web design isn’t just about making beautiful layouts. It’s about interaction, movement, responsiveness, hierarchy, usability, and how an experience feels as someone moves through it.
You should have a portfolio that demonstrates strong digital and web work.
Strong Design Fundamentals
You have 3+ years of experience in brand, marketing, digital, or web design.
You may have a traditional design background, an unconventional path, or anything in between. We care much more about what you’ve made than where you’ve worked.
You don’t need to be an engineer.
But you should be comfortable working with a website and collaborating closely with engineers. You should be able to make smaller changes yourself, understand what’s possible on the web, and use modern tools like Claude Code to bring ideas to life.
You don’t need to know exactly how everything works. You need to be curious enough to figure it out.
If something on the website looks wrong, you fix it.
If a page feels outdated, you improve it.
If you see an opportunity to make something better, you don’t wait for someone to write a spec.
High Standards + Good Judgment
You care about the details, but you also know how to move quickly.
You can tell the difference between work that needs another few hours of refinement and work that is ready to ship.
You have strong opinions about design.
You’re also willing to change your mind when someone has a better idea.
You care more about getting to the best answer than being right.
