(Level -1) Education and Experience requirements at this level are none.
(Level - III) - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of general law enforcement principles and practices; of state and federal laws, rules and regulations related to public safety and criminal conduct; of methods and techniques used in conducting investigations; and of emergency response policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of the methods and objectives of security, and of standard fire prevention and protection theory.
Ability is required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to follow written and oral instructions; and to evaluate emergency situations and adopt effective courses of action.
(Level I) - Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill all job-related duties associated with this position.
(Level III) - This position level, at the Department of Public Safety, requires a current Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) certification as an “Armed Security Guard.” Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
Some positions at the Department of Public Safety will require graduation from the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training Academy (CLEET) with certification as an “Armed Security Guard.”
