Limetax is building the agentic-first accounting and tax group for German SMEs.
We acquire established accounting and tax advisory firms and onboard them to our proprietary agentic platform, combining deep industry expertise with AI-native technology.
Backed by $40m in equity and debt from top-tier investors, we’re building and scaling a new kind of accounting & tax group in Germany.
Our founders bring significant experience across M&A, operations, and AI-native technology, having previously built and scaled unicorns, Razor Group and Augustus.
The Role
As a Founders’ Associate Intern – M&A & Strategy, you’ll work directly with our founding team on the growth of Limetax.
Your primary focus will be our acquisition activities. You’ll contribute to live deal processes across the full investment cycle — from identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets to financial analysis, due diligence, and transaction preparation.
Beyond M&A, you’ll work on selected strategic projects and gain exposure to the broader questions involved in building and scaling Limetax.
What You’ll Work On
•
Evaluate acquisitions. Analyze potential targets, understand their financial performance and business model, build valuation cases, and develop a view on whether we should pursue a deal.
•
Support live transactions. Work across sourcing, due diligence, and deal execution alongside the founders and investment team.
•
Work on fundraising. Support financing processes with research, analysis, and investor materials.
•
Solve strategic questions. Analyze new opportunities, markets, and initiatives and turn incomplete information into clear recommendations.
•
Build how the group operates. Help develop the processes and structures we use to integrate acquired firms and scale Limetax.
•
Pick up what matters. Take ownership of high-priority topics that sit between teams or don’t yet have a natural owner.
What We’re Looking For
•
Initial experience in top-tier investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, or a high-growth startup. One relevant internship can be enough.
•
Strong academic track record and excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
•
You can structure an ambiguous problem, work with incomplete information, and still arrive at a clear recommendation.
•
You’re comfortable building financial models that others can understand, challenge, and use.
•
You move fast, care about the details, and take ownership through execution — not just analysis.
•
You are comfortable using AI tools as part of your day-to-day work.
•
You have an entrepreneurial mindset and genuine interest in M&A, strategy, and company building.
•
Professional German and English; German is mandatory.
Why Limetax
•
Direct founder exposure. Work directly with the founders on decisions that shape the company.
•
Real ownership. Own meaningful projects and see them through from question to outcome.
•
Live M&A. Work on real acquisition processes where you become an actual part of the deal team.
•
Broad exposure. Move between M&A, fundraising, strategy, and operations depending on what matters most.
•
Build with AI from day one. Work in a company where AI is part of both the product and how we operate.
•
Potential full-time path. Exceptional performers may have the opportunity to join Limetax permanently after the internship.
