About the role
Connecteam is looking for an AI-native Data Analytics Team Lead to lead our analytics team and shape how data is used to drive business decisions across the company.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management, strong business understanding, and technical leadership. You will lead and develop a team of analysts, set technical and analytical standards, own the team’s priorities, and partner with stakeholders and senior leadership on high-impact initiatives.
You and your team will work primarily with dbt, BigQuery, Looker, and GitHub, while using AI-enabled tools such as Cursor, MCP integrations, n8n, and OpenClaw to automate workflows and scale how the team works.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, technical depth, business understanding, and the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
•
Lead, manage, and develop a team of Data Analysts, including setting goals, providing feedback, and supporting their professional growth.
•
Own the team’s priorities and analytical roadmap, ensuring the team focuses on the highest-impact business needs.
•
Define and drive technical and analytical standards across data modeling, SQL, dbt, testing, code reviews, and BI.
•
Partner with stakeholders and senior leadership to understand business needs, define KPIs, and translate data into actionable recommendations.
•
Lead high-impact analyses and guide the development of reliable, scalable data models and Looker dashboards.
•
Ensure data quality and lead investigations into anomalies, tracking issues, and inconsistent metrics.
•
Drive AI-native ways of working by turning repeatable analyses and processes into reusable, automated workflows.
•
Stay hands-on with data, code, and analysis when tackling complex or high-impact problems.
Experience & Skills
•
5+ years of experience in business, growth, or data analytics within a fast-paced SaaS or web company, including 2+ years of direct people management experience leading a team of Data Analysts.
•
Strong business understanding and the ability to translate business needs into clear analytical priorities and actionable insights.
•
Strong technical leadership and experience establishing analytics and engineering best practices.
•
Advanced SQL and production experience with dbt, including data modeling, testing, lineage, and CI.
•
Experience with Git-based development and code review workflows.
•
Experience building decision-oriented dashboards in Looker or a comparable BI platform.
•
Practical experience using AI agents in analytical or engineering workflows.
•
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
•
A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.
Nice to have
•
Experience designing and implementing a governed semantic layer.
•
Python.
•
Experience with statistics, experimentation, or A/B testing.
•
Experience with B2B, multi-tenant SaaS businesses.
•
Experience building agent skills, n8n workflows, Cursor projects, or internal data agents.
