Your responsibilities will include:
•
Building and maintaining backend services and APIs that support Nitra’s fintech and healthcare software products
•
Writing clean, well-structured JavaScript (and other relevant languages) to deliver reliable, scalable features
•
Collaborating closely with senior engineers to understand system architecture and relational database design
•
Participating in code reviews, contributing to best practices, and continuously improving code quality
•
Supporting cross-functional teams by understanding product requirements and translating them into technical solutions
•
Working across time zones, including availability for nightly calls when collaborating with global teammates
•
Owning assigned tasks end-to-end — flagging blockers, communicating progress, and delivering on commitments
You have:
•
at least 3 years of software engineering experience
•
A degree from a top engineering university
•
Proficiency and fluency in both English and Mandarin
•
Proficiency in JavaScript; familiarity with additional programming languages is a plus
•
A foundational understanding of relational databases and system design principles
•
Strong communication skills — you can clearly articulate technical ideas and collaborate with teammates
•
A genuine interest in joining an early-stage startup and the drive to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
•
Willingness to work on-site 4 days per week in Taipei and to accommodate nightly calls across time zones
•
A growth mindset — you see challenges as opportunities, actively seek feedback, and are always looking to level up
•
A sense of ownership and accountability — when faced with a messy codebase or a tight deadline, you lean in and find a path forward

A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
