The Jr. Linux Systems Administrator within the College of Engineering (CoE), under the guidance of senior staff, performs routine operational activities, including installing, configuring, operating, maintaining, and supporting systems owned and operated in a multi-OS environment.
The role uses and contributes to systems management tools such as RHEL Satellite, Uyuni, and Ansible, and assists with projects that support and improve infrastructure and services. The Jr. Linux Systems Administrator performs basic troubleshooting and escalates complex issues, assists in managing the security of the computing infrastructure, provides technical support, and assists with the development and implementation of innovative solutions that enhance instruction and research.
This position ensures adherence to University and College policies and meets all compliance and reporting requirements across the University, College, departments, and centers, as needed. Work is guided by the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practice framework to maintain the availability, security, and performance of infrastructure systems.
