About the role
Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician looking to join a high-performing biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment? We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to become part of an empowered shift team supporting our Bulk Drug Substance facility in Dublin.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and optimising critical manufacturing equipment, helping to ensure the reliable operation of a world-class biopharmaceutical facility. You’ll also play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives, equipment start-up activities and supporting the introduction of new technologies and products.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Maintenance Technician, you will:
•
Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance activities on process equipment in line with site procedures and GMP requirements.
•
Troubleshoot technical issues using structured problem-solving methodologies to minimise downtime and improve equipment performance.
•
Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Quality and cGMP standards.
•
Utilise Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other digital tools to manage maintenance activities effectively.
•
Support investigations, corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs), and process safety initiatives.
•
Assist in the creation and revision of maintenance procedures, job plans and training materials.
•
Support equipment installation, qualification, start-up and validation activities.
•
Act as a technical subject matter expert across multiple process technologies, sharing expertise and driving best practices.
•
Analyse process and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and enhanced equipment reliability.
•
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools such as Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work and 5S methodologies.
•
Coordinate and support maintenance work completed by external vendors and contractors.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements
•
Significant experience performing maintenance on process equipment within a cGMP manufacturing environment.
•
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
•
Knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements relating to maintenance activities.
•
Experience using CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.
•
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•
Degree, diploma, apprenticeship, technical certification or trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
Desirable Experience
Experience working with biopharmaceutical equipment and systems would be highly advantageous, including:
•
Bioreactors
•
Centrifuges
•
Autoclaves and glass washers
•
Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems
•
Media and buffer preparation systems
•
Purification systems
