Third-Party Risk & Compliance Lead
The primary focus of this role is to lead our Know Your Supplier (KYS) program in Mexico, evolving it from a strong operational process into a scalable, risk-based, and increasingly automated framework.
This is not a traditional KYS/KYB analyst role. The person joining will initially work directly on cases to build a deep understanding of our vendor population, processes, tools, and risk scenarios, but the long-term focus is broader: leading complex cases and escalations, improving how KYS operates, and driving its strategic evolution as the company grows. Reporting to the Senior Compliance Lawyer, the KYS Lead will become the main functional point of reference for the KYS team.
Challenges that await you:
•
Lead the KYS process end-to-end, providing functional direction to the team and ensuring consistent execution, appropriate risk management, and continuous improvement.
•
Act as the main point of escalation for complex KYS cases and exceptions, making pragmatic, risk-based decisions and involving senior Compliance leadership when appropriate.
•
Lead KYS conversations with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external partners, representing Compliance while balancing risk requirements with practical business needs.
•
Identify recurring issues and root causes and turn them into sustainable improvements rather than solving the same problems case by case.
•
Own the KYS improvement roadmap across processes, controls, automation, and scalability, partnering with internal teams and external platforms to translate Compliance and operational needs into practical solutions.
•
Build visibility into KYS performance by monitoring volumes, SLAs, backlog, turnaround times, escalation drivers, and capacity, using data to identify bottlenecks and prioritize improvements.
•
Help drive key KYS initiatives, including the continued evolution of the KYS risk matrix, supporting tooling and other initiatives required as the program matures.
•
Lead risk-based remediation and periodic review programs and drive KYS guidance, training, and communication so stakeholders understand the process, requirements, and their responsibilities.
What makes you a great fit:
•
5+ years of relevant professional experience, with strong hands-on expertise in KYC, KYB, vendor due diligence, third-party risk, supplier risk management, or similar due diligence and onboarding processes.
•
Demonstrated experience operating beyond individual case execution: identifying issues, taking ownership of processes, and driving improvements through implementation.
•
Strong independent judgment and the ability to make pragmatic, risk-based decisions in complex cases and exceptions with limited supervision.
•
A strong process improvement mindset, with experience simplifying, standardizing, automating, or scaling operational workflows.
•
An analytical and data-driven approach, using operational metrics, volumes, SLAs, trends, and capacity information to identify problems and support decisions.
•
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and working effectively with teams such as Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Compliance.
•
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively, explain complex topics, and make recommendations to senior stakeholders.
•
High degree of ownership, autonomy, and follow-through.
•
Professional fluency in English and Spanish is required; experience in fintech, banking, financial services, or another regulated environment is preferred.
