As the MATERIAL HANDLER, you’ll be responsible for the receiving and movement of raw materials, Work-in-Process and finished product during the manufacturing process.
OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Supplies raw materials as directed for scaling, blending, and mixing
•
Verifies the materials/ingredients coming into the scaling, blending and mixing areas are correct in specification, quantity, and quality as called for by the production Job
•
Supplies all packaging materials needed for packing finished product
•
Transports and stages work-in-process as directed
•
Transports finished product as directed
•
Maintain proper and accurate inventory management of raw materials, packaging and finished product movements
•
Must be able to comprehend and follow directions, be trained on Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and maintain high quality workmanship
•
Maintain neat, concise and accurate records as required
•
Perform other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT
•
A large percentage of the time is spent in the production area where noise level can be moderate to high
•
Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free manufacturing environment
Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING (MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS)
•
High school diploma (or equivalent)
•
6 plus months working in a food manufacturing environment or a related field preferred.
•
Must be able to read, understand and follow directions given, understand Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and maintain high quality workmanship.
•
Ability to effectively communicate with employees in various positions and at all levels.
•
Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands and occasionally with short notice.
•
Excellent problem solving.
•
Basic familiarity with computerized systems and basic software application.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach for extended periods.
•
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
•
Push/Pull up to 300 lbs.
•
Ability to operate a pallet jack (manual and/or electric).
