What you’ll be doing
Responsibilities
Our Insurance team is focused on creating products and experiences that protect clients and support the bank’s lending and card businesses. As a Director, Creditor Insurance Product Management, you’ll be responsible for the strategy, performance and evolution of CIBC’s creditor insurance portfolio across mortgages, loans, lines of credit and credit cards.
You’ll identify opportunities to strengthen product performance, improve client value propositions, optimize pricing and distribution strategies, and lead initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes. Working across lending, cards, operations, technology, legal, compliance, finance and external insurance providers, you’ll translate business opportunities into action and help shape the future direction of one of CIBC’s largest insurance portfolios.
Success in this role requires strong commercial judgment, analytical thinking and execution discipline. You’ll be expected to challenge assumptions, make informed recommendations and lead change that improves growth, profitability, client experience and operational effectiveness.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you’ll succeed

Product strategy and planning - Develop and execute strategies that strengthen the competitiveness, growth and long-term performance of the creditor insurance portfolio. Monitor market activity, competitor offerings, client behaviour and emerging trends to identify opportunities and risks. Translate insights into actions that improve client outcomes, business performance and portfolio growth. Recommend enhancements to product design, client value propositions and distribution strategies that strengthen competitive positioning.

Product management - Lead the end-to-end management of creditor insurance products across mortgages, loans, lines of credit and credit cards. Oversee product design, pricing, performance management and client experience. Ensure products continue to meet client needs while supporting the objectives of the bank’s lending and card businesses. Identify opportunities to improve portfolio performance, client engagement and operational effectiveness.

Portfolio ownership - Own the performance of the creditor insurance portfolio and identify opportunities to improve growth, profitability and client outcomes. Use data, analytics and financial insights to guide product decisions and investment priorities. Evaluate pricing opportunities, business cases and product changes with a clear understanding of their impact on growth, profitability and client behaviour. Balance commercial objectives, client needs and risk considerations when making recommendations. Establish performance measures and monitor results to ensure initiatives deliver expected outcomes.

Strategic initiative delivery - Lead product-related initiatives from concept through implementation. Define objectives, business outcomes and success measures. Align stakeholders, manage execution and navigate competing priorities. Ensure initiatives deliver measurable business benefits and support strategic priorities. Drive accountability for results and benefit realization.

Regulatory and risk oversight - Maintain a strong understanding of banking and insurance regulatory requirements, internal risk policies and compliance expectations. Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting creditor insurance products. Lead the changes required to keep products compliant, sustainable and aligned with the bank’s risk appetite. Partner with Legal, Compliance and Risk teams to proactively identify and address emerging issues.

Relationship management - Build strong partnerships across lending, cards, operations, technology, legal, compliance, finance and external insurance providers. Influence stakeholders across the organization to build alignment around priorities and strategic decisions. Foster collaboration across teams to accelerate delivery and improve business outcomes. Establish credibility as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert.

You’re an experienced product leader. You bring meaningful experience in product management, banking, insurance, or a related financial services environment. You know how to balance client value, commercial outcomes, and operational feasibility to drive sustainable business performance, and you have experience leading complex initiatives that deliver measurable results.

You use data and sound judgment to make recommendations that strengthen business outcomes and understand how product decisions influence growth, profitability, client behaviour, and operational performance.
