We’re looking for people with a strong background or interest in systems at scale, comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces, with a keen eye towards detail, and comfortable learning new technologies. Most importantly, you should be enthusiastic working with a variety of backgrounds, roles, and needs.
Responsibilities:
•
Manage, build and maintain our AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure.
•
Run the core components powering our products, such as PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch and Kafka.
•
Own problems end-to-end, thinking through everything from system design, scalability, operability and ongoing observability.
•
Write and review code, develop documentation, create capacity plans, and work to continually improve our engineering processes.
•
Participate in architectural reviews and work with engineers across the company to scale our products.
•
Be an evangelist of your work, both in the company, as well as the broader technical community.
•
Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases, infrastructure, and processes you will encounter.
•
Improve security across our AWS, Kubernetes and Container based infrastructure
•
Design, deploy, and manage critical infrastructure security services and tools for authentication, authorization, identity & access management, PKI, secrets management, Zero-Trust networks, logging, detection, mTLS and more
•
Architect and provision controls on the “Paved Path” of CI/CD, so that we’re secure by default
•
Automate detection of vulnerabilities, evaluate and deploy critical patches to production systems
•
Train new engineers and evangelize good security habits; ensure best practices (in technology via education/outreach)
•
Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases, infrastructure, and processes you will encounter
•
Collaborate with experts in infrastructure and product engineering.
Requirements

•
Thinking about robust systems, and writing high quality code.
•
Caring about system design and value building things correctly from day one, without cutting corners.
•
Debugging complex problems across the entire stack.
•
Taking pride in working on projects to successful completion, involving a wide variety of technologies and systems.
•
Holding yourself and others to a high bar when working with production systems.
•
Stitching many different services and processes together, even if you have not worked with them before
•
Thriving in a collaborative environment, filled with a diverse group of people with different expertise and backgrounds (we currently have around 30 nationalities represented, with more than ½ the company working in a country different from the one they grew up in).
