About the role
ROLE OVERVIEW:
This isn’t a role for someone who simply wants to process files. You’ll work directly alongside the Principal Broker as a trusted second-in-command, taking ownership of the lending journey from enquiry through to formal approval.
You’ll analyse lending scenarios, structure solutions, communicate directly with Australian clients and lenders, and solve problems proactively. Rather than simply following a process, you’ll be trusted to think critically, make sound decisions, and continually improve the way we operate.
As the business grows, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor future offshore team members and help build a high-performing operations team.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
End-to-End Loan Ownership
•
Manage the complete front-end mortgage process from enquiry through to formal approval.
•
Build strong relationships with Australian clients through exceptional communication and service.
•
Structure lending solutions across Construction Loans, Self-Employed Borrowers, Guarantor Loans, and other complex residential lending scenarios.
•
Liaise directly with lenders, Business Development Managers (BDMs), and credit assessors to progress applications and negotiate policy outcomes.
•
Maintain comprehensive file notes and ensure seamless handover to the Australian settlements team.
Credit Analysis & Business Support
•
Assess lending scenarios and recommend practical, commercially sound solutions.
•
Research lender policy and identify the best strategy for each client.
•
Exercise sound judgement while confidently managing files with minimal supervision.
•
Identify opportunities to improve workflows, systems, templates, and operational efficiency.
Leadership & Growth
•
Become the Principal Broker’s trusted operational partner.
•
Mentor future offshore team members as the business grows.
•
Help build scalable systems and contribute to a high-performing operations team.
Requirements
Essential
•
Essential Experience
•
Minimum 5 years’ Australian mortgage broking experience as a Senior Para-Broker.
•
Strong understanding of the complete mortgage process from client discovery through to settlement.
•
Extensive experience with Construction Loans, Self-Employed Borrowers, Guarantor Loans, and complex residential lending.
•
Proficiency using Broker Engine, Mercury, and FLEX.
•
Outstanding written and verbal English.
•
Confidence in communicating directly with Australian clients, lenders, and BDMs.
•
Australian mortgage broking experience will be valued more highly than formal qualifications.
