Job Summary:
As a Tax Resource Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of client engagements through strategic resource planning, scheduling, and workforce coordination across the Tax practice. You’ll partner closely with tax leadership and engagement teams to align staffing needs with client demands, optimize capacity, and ensure resources are deployed effectively throughout the year.
In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to leadership by balancing workloads, supporting workforce planning initiatives, utilizing data to inform staffing decisions, and helping drive operational efficiency across the practice. Success in this position requires strong analytical, organizational, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to navigate competing priorities in a fast-paced professional services environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•
Build and maintain annual staffing and resource schedules, ensuring client engagements are appropriately staffed and workloads remain balanced across the practice
•
Partner with tax leadership to align resources with client needs based on availability, technical skillsets, industry experience, certifications, and engagement complexity
•
Monitor resource utilization and capacity, proactively resolving scheduling conflicts and staffing challenges while supporting workforce planning initiatives
•
Generate, analyze, and interpret staffing, utilization, and capacity data to support resource allocation decisions and operational planning
•
Maintain employee skills, certifications, and specialization data within resource management systems to improve staffing effectiveness
•
Support client onboarding activities by coordinating staffing needs, tracking outstanding requirements, and helping resolve resource-related issues
•
Serve as a trusted and objective partner when balancing competing staffing requests across multiple teams, offices, and engagements
•
Utilize technology, reporting tools, and AI-enabled resources to improve processes, solve problems, and support business needs
Education & Experience:
•
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
•
2+ years of experience in a professional services environment required
•
Experience utilizing scheduling, resource management, ERP, or project management systems required
•
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
•
Experience analyzing data, generating reports, and using insights to support business decisions
•
Ability to learn new technologies and software applications independently
