Your role and tasks
We are looking for an experienced Project Procurement Manager who wants to play a key role in shaping the future of project procurement within ABB Denmark. This is a unique opportunity to influence strategy, ways of working, supplier collaboration, and procurement’s role across the entire project lifecycle. As the function continues to develop, you will have a significant impact on how project procurement creates value for the business and supports successful project delivery.
In this role, you will have direct responsibility for a local Project Procurement professional while providing functional leadership and coordinating a smaller team of Project Procurement specialists in ABB’s Operations Center (OPC). Working closely with sales teams, project managers, engineering teams, key suppliers, and the regional Project Procurement HUB, you will act as a trusted business partner, ensuring procurement is engaged early in the project lifecycle and contributes to both commercial success and operational excellence.
A key focus of the role will be developing strategic supplier relationships, driving supplier involvement in tender activities, and establishing efficient procurement processes that strengthen ABB’s competitiveness. We are seeking a colleague who enjoys driving change, creating structure, developing people, and delivering sustainable business value through strong stakeholder engagement and leadership.
Your responsibilities will include

Lead and develop a team of Project Procurement Specialists, ensuring effective support of tendering and project execution
•
Define and implement the future project procurement framework for ABB Denmark.
•
Establish strategic partnerships with key suppliers and ensure early supplier involvement in tender and sales activities.
•
Collaborate with sales and tender teams to support competitive customer proposals through market insight and supplier engagement. Build and maintain a project supplier matrix covering strategic suppliers and critical capabilities.
•
Facilitate supplier meetings, relationship-building activities and early-phase business discussions.
•
Develop procurement governance, processes, best practices and stakeholder engagement models across the organization.
•
Lead project procurement activities from tender phase through project execution, ensuring alignment with project objectives, schedules and commercial targets.
•
Manage commercial risks, supplier performance and value-creation opportunities throughout the supply chain.
Qualifications for the role
•
A minimum of five years of experience in project procurement, strategic sourcing, and/or supply chain management, with proven experience leading a procurement function.
•
Experience providing functional leadership and coordinating procurement professionals in a project-based environment.
•
Experience establishing or developing project procurement organizations, frameworks or governance models.
•
Experience working closely with sales, tendering and project execution teams.
•
Demonstrated success in building and managing strategic supplier relationships.
•
Knowledge of supplier risk management, commercial negotiations and contract management.
•
Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions.
•
Professional communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

You will be based at our office in Ballerup or Middelfart, alongside your closest colleagues and stakeholders. In addition, we offer the possibility of working from home a few days a week.
