As a Outsourcing Manager at ICON, you lead the contracting lifecycle for complex external vendor engagements, partnering with internal stakeholders and service providers to negotiate commercially sound agreements, managing contractual and financial risk, and support compliant outsourcing decisions while maintaining high standards of quality.
What You Will Be Doing:
•
Lead contracting strategy and independently negotiate complex agreements while balancing business objectives, commercial value, risk, and compliance requirements.
•
Manage contracts throughout the full lifecycle, including strategy development, drafting, negotiation, execution, issue resolution, and post-contract support.
•
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align requirements and drive timely business decisions.
•
Identify contractual, operational, and financial risks and develop practical solutions that support business objectives.
•
Analyze and provide guidance on vendor budgets, cost structures, rate cards, payment terms, invoices, and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and cost-saving opportunities.
•
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to support successful outsourcing outcomes.
Your Profile:
You would be a commercially minded professional with experience managing contracts, vendor relationships, and complex negotiations. You are comfortable operating independently, assessing risk, and partnering with diverse stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
Required qualifications and experience:
•
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience; legal education or contract management experience preferred.
•
Demonstrated experience leading complex contract negotiations and managing vendor and stakeholder relationships.
•
Strong knowledge of contract standards, risk allocation, budget structures, cost analysis, invoicing, and reconciliation processes.
•
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently identify risks, adjust negotiation strategies, and make sound business decisions.
•
Foundational knowledge of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical research, or healthcare industry, including GCP, GDPR, data privacy, and industry-standard contractual provisions.
•
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
•
Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
