We are looking for a Product Lead to own and develop the SME Credit Products direction within Plata Empresa.
About the company
Plata Empresa is building a comprehensive banking ecosystem for small and medium-sized businesses, including current and FX accounts, business cards, deposits, payments, and acquiring. Credit products are one of the key areas of growth and monetization, with a portfolio that includes business credit cards, overdrafts, factoring, and working capital financing.
In this role, you will own the strategy and P&L of the SME credit business, lead a team of Product Managers, and work closely with Risk to define the credit strategy. You will be responsible for the entire product portfolio and its performance — from launching and scaling individual products to managing portfolio quality, unit economics, and profitability.
This is a high-ownership leadership role with the opportunity to build and scale a key business direction from the ground up.
Challenges that await you:

Owning the strategy and P&L of the SME credit business, including product portfolio, launch priorities, and unit economics
•
Leading and developing a team of Product Managers responsible for individual credit products
•
Launching and scaling the credit product portfolio, including business credit cards, overdrafts, factoring, and working capital financing
•
Developing credit strategy together with Risk, including scoring models, credit limits, delinquency stages, and provisioning
•
Designing end-to-end credit journeys across origination, signing, disbursement, servicing, repayments, and collections, with a strong focus on automation
•
Building the regulatory framework together with Legal and Compliance and ensuring products meet relevant regulatory and reporting requirements
•
Managing key business and portfolio metrics, including portfolio volume and quality, margin, NPL, approval rate, limit utilization, and CAC/LTV
•
Working closely with Engineering, Analytics, Risk, Legal, Sales, and Operations to deliver and scale credit products
What makes you a great fit:
•
6+ years of experience in Product Management within fintech or banking, including 3+ years working with SME / B2B credit products
•
Proven experience launching credit products from scratch and managing an existing credit portfolio
•
Strong understanding of the full credit lifecycle, from origination and scoring to servicing and collections
•
Experience leading Product Managers or owning several product areas simultaneously
•
Strong understanding of credit product economics, including P&L, pricing, cost of risk, and provisioning
•
Solid knowledge of credit risk management, including scoring models, limit policies, and vintage analysis
•
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
•
B2 or higher English level for effective communication with an international team
Your bonus skills:
•
Understanding of the Mexican financial and regulatory environment, including CNBV, SAT, SPEI, and CFDI
•
Hands-on experience with SQL or Python
•
Spanish language skills
