Job Summary
We’re looking for an experienced WordPress Developer with 4–5+ years of professional experience to join a growing team in a fully remote role.
You’ll be responsible for building, customizing, optimizing, and maintaining high-quality WordPress websites. This role requires strong expertise across both front-end and back-end WordPress development, with hands-on experience in custom themes, plugins, PHP, JavaScript, databases, performance optimization, SEO, and website security.
The ideal candidate is comfortable owning WordPress projects end-to-end, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and delivering fast, secure, responsive, and maintainable websites.
Key Responsibilities
•
Theme Development: Build and customize WordPress themes, website layouts, templates, and styles using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
•
Plugin Development: Develop custom WordPress plugins, extensions, and functionality to meet specific business and website requirements.
•
Front-End Development: Create responsive, user-friendly interfaces that perform seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
•
Back-End Development: Work with PHP, WordPress core functionality, databases, APIs, and server-side logic to support reliable website functionality.
•
Performance Optimization: Improve Core Web Vitals, page-loading speeds, caching, database performance, and overall website efficiency.
•
SEO Optimization: Implement technical and on-page SEO best practices to improve website structure, crawlability, performance, and search visibility.
•
Security & Maintenance: Conduct security checks and audits, manage WordPress core/theme/plugin updates, troubleshoot bugs, and maintain regular website backups.
•
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve compatibility issues, broken functionality, performance bottlenecks, and other technical problems.
•
Quality Assurance: Test websites and new functionality across browsers and devices before deployment.
•
Ongoing Development: Maintain existing WordPress websites while continuously improving their functionality, performance, security, and user experience.
Requirements
•
4–5+ years of professional WordPress development experience.
•
Strong knowledge of WordPress architecture, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
•
Proven experience building and customizing WordPress themes from scratch.
•
Hands-on experience developing or modifying custom WordPress plugins.
•
Strong understanding of MySQL/database management and back-end development.
•
Experience with responsive and mobile-first web development.
•
Strong understanding of WordPress performance optimization, caching, and Core Web Vitals.
•
Knowledge of technical SEO and SEO-friendly development practices.
•
Experience implementing WordPress security best practices, updates, backups, and maintenance procedures.
•
Familiarity with APIs and third-party integrations.
•
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex WordPress issues independently.
•
Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, maintainable code.
•
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
•
Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote environment.
