WE are a Digital First company with three flagship products, a fiat and crypto finance platform spanning three products, a CRM and customer communications product, and a travel-first finance.
We’re mid-way through a v4 redesign: a new design system, a rethought IA, and a shift toward a cleaner, more considered visual language across mobile, web, and marketing.
About the role
This role can be assigned to any of the three products, depending on where the team needs support. Wherever you land, you’ll go deep on that one area rather than spreading thin across all three at once.
You will:
•
Own one product area of our three products at a time, from problem definition through shipped design. You’ll go deep on your assigned area rather than spreading across everything simultaneously.
•
Design inside our existing Figma design system, and help extend it alongside another designer on the team. This is built together, not solo.
•
Bring strong visual craft, typography, spacing, layout, elevation, that holds up against Apex’s direction (curved, minimal, iOS-leaning, no glass morphism).
•
Validate copy, flows, and interaction logic before moving to high-fidelity screens.
•
Work directly with the Lead Designer, Product Managers, engineers, and other designers within cross-functional teams.
•
Give and take direct feedback in critique.
Requirements
You need heavy oversight on every decision, prefer to work in isolation, or are looking for a pure visual role with no product thinking attached this is not for you. please read through the role requirement carefully and apply only if you fit and are ready to take on this role:
You have:
•
3–5 years shipping digital products, ideally in fintech, banking, or crypto.
•
Excellent UI, UX, and interaction design skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
•
High proficiency in Figma, with experience building or maintaining design systems, and comfort contributing to one as part of a team rather than solo.
•
A strong product mindset, you look past “what” to understand the “why” behind a customer or business problem.
•
Experience using customer research, analytics, and experimentation to inform decisions and iterate on solutions.
•
Experience writing or reviewing product copy with intention.
•
Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-moving environment, you balance speed with quality and take ownership of outcomes rather than waiting for a fully-scoped brief.
•
Bonus: experience designing for a Nigerian or African user base, or for a product with both personal and business account types.
