Financial Analyst Humanoid Robot Business Unit, based in Shenzhen or Jiangmen. The role will work closely with business team, R&D engineers, product managers, and supply chain to model business cases, manage R&D budgets, and drive profitability strategies for robotics product platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Cost Analysis & Standard Costing(High Priority)
•
Analyze and interpret product cost data to develop meaningful and accurate standard cost information for the Business Unit to use in new product quotation and margin analysis.
•
Build detailed cost models for humanoid robot components and subsystems.
•
Partner with finance team, BU functional heads, and cross function team to ensure cost accuracy.
Timely analyze the monthly Business Unit standard cost and prepare cost tracking reports.
•
Explain major variances, changes, and errors to alert management of any concerns impacting product margin.
•
Provide actionable insights to BU and Operation cost center heads and controllers on cost performance and margin protection.
3. Budget & Cost Reduction Support(High Priority)
•
Use knowledge in product and component costing to support the Business Unit and help the Controller drive the BU to exceed its annual Budget & Forecast material cost reduction targets/goals.
•
Identify cost optimization opportunities across the product lifecycle and supply chain.
•
Collaborate with Functions, CC heads, and Project Managers (PMs) to implement cost-down initiatives.
4. Strategic FP&A & Business Modeling
•
Support to develop long-range financial plans (3-5 years) for the Humanoid Robot BU
•
Prepare investment committee decks and business cases for new technology development and CAPEX requests.
5. R&D and Project Finance
•
Track and analyze R&D spending, ensuring proper capitalization vs. expensing in compliance with IFRS/China GAAP.
•
Monitor project burn rates and provide early warnings on budget variances to engineering leads.
•
Calculate ROI and payback periods for specific robot subsystem developments (e.g., actuators, AI integration, battery systems).
6. Operational Reporting & Control
•
Lead the monthly close process for the BU, including variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget vs. Forecast).
•
Establish KPIs specific to the robotics business (e.g., cost per unit, R&D efficiency, time-to-market financial impact).
•
Ensure internal controls and compliance standards are established for the new BU/JV.
Perform other ad-hoc activities as required by staff and leadership.
•
Act as the primary finance liaison to Product and Engineering teams, translating technical milestones into financial impacts.
•
Support the BU General Manager and Controller in strategic initiatives, including JV governance, government grant applications, and transfer pricing documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
•
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is strongly preferred.
•
Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Cost Accounting, or Strategic Finance, preferably within a multinational manufacturing environment.
•
Industry Background: Experience in automotive, electronics manufacturing, hardware tech, or robotics is highly preferred. Deep understanding of BOMs, standard costing, COGS, and supply chain finance is critical.
•
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling), ERP systems (Oracle preferred), and BI tools (PowerBI).
•
Language: Fluent in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is required to bridge global reporting standards with local operations. Cantonese is a plus.
