We are looking for our next AML Analyst to support the strengthening of Banco Plata’s compliance framework by performing operational analysis related to AML/CFT/CPF (PLD/FT/FPADM), under the supervision of the AML & Compliance Manager, contributing to risk management and to the traceability of compliance processes.
Challenges that await you:
1. Analysis and Handling of Escalated Transaction Monitoring Alerts
•
Analyze and follow up on transaction monitoring cases escalated to the Compliance team, ensuring proper traceability.
•
Identify discrepancies between the transactional profile and the customer’s actual behavior to determine whether an operation is unusual or should be dismissed, with Manager validation.
•
Support the identification of elements for escalating cases to the Communication and Control Committee (CCC), under review by a senior specialist.
2. Client-Level Analysis – Sanctions List Monitoring
•
Analyze matches derived from monitoring against national and international sanctions lists.
•
Document the analysis with traceability in accordance with internal parameters, for review and validation of escalation by a supervisor.
3. Support in the Preparation of Regulatory Reports
•
Collaborate in the preparation of applicable regulatory reports.
•
Draft clear and structured narratives for review and validation.
•
Support the verification of consistency between the case analysis and the reported information.
•
Track the regulatory deadlines set by the CNBV.
4. Support in Risk Assessment and Transactional Profiling
•
Study basic patterns in transactions using applicable typologies, with guidance from a senior specialist.
•
Contribute observations to strengthen the risk-based approach methodology.
5. Continuous Improvement and Updates
•
Study and analyze applicable AML/CFT regulation for the Institution, with support from the Manager.
•
Contribute to the documentation of policies and procedures, and propose improvements to processes and automated systems, supporting the AML & Compliance team.
•
Maintain an up-to-date profile on regulatory matters at the local and international level.
What makes you a great fit:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields — recent graduate or degree holder.
•
2 years of experience in regulated financial institutions preferred.
•
Basic to intermediate knowledge of applicable AML/CFT regulation.
•
Advanced English (required).
•
Experience in transaction monitoring and restricted list screening. (desirable)
