• Mobilisation and transition readiness: Support Unix and Solaris mobilisation activities through environment readiness checks, access validation, tooling enablement, dependency confirmation and transition readiness evidence for service takeover.
• Knowledge transfer and operational readiness: Participate in structured knowledge transfer, shadowing and reverse shadowing across Unix/Linux and Solaris services, focusing on operational procedures, failure scenarios, daily health checks, platform dependencies, escalation paths and known risks.
• Unix/Solaris operations: Operate and maintain enterprise Unix platforms, with emphasis on Oracle Solaris, Solaris Zones, ZFS, SPARC infrastructure and Red Hat Enterprise Linux; support availability, performance, capacity, housekeeping, patching preparation and configuration control.
• Incident, problem and service restoration: Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex Unix/Solaris incidents, performing triage, service restoration, root cause analysis and follow-up problem management activities in line with ITIL practices.
• Operational procedures and runbooks: Review, improve and create SOPs, runbooks, support guides and knowledge articles covering start/stop procedures, event response, backup validation,
recovery, patching, health checks, log review, performance investigation, capacity checks and failover support.
• Monitoring, backup and resilience assurance: Validate monitoring, alerting, backup, recovery, high availability and disaster recovery arrangements for Unix/Solaris platforms, ensuring operational evidence is available before service acceptance and during Early Life Support.
• Governance, risk and service acceptance: Support service acceptance, Go/No-Go reviews and transition governance by providing evidence of operational control, tooling access, documentation readiness, capability coverage, open risks and remediation actions.
• Early Life Support delivery: Provide 3rd-line and on-call support during Early Life Support after cutover, monitor incident trends and alerts, coordinate rapid resolution with adjacent teams, capture lessons learned and embed improvements into BAU processes.
