The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for managing the front office operations of the dermatology practice. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. The receptionist performs a variety of administrative tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and processing payments. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical setting.

Checking in and checking out patients
•
Answer incoming calls, route clinical questions to staff, and relay messages promptly.

Schedule dermatology visits and procedures accurately across provider calendars.
•
Maintain patient demographics, referrals, forms, and medical records in the EMR/PM system.
•
Verify insurance eligibility and referral requirements before visits; escalate authorization needs.
•
Collect copays and balances, issue receipts, and reconcile front desk transactions.
•
Coordinate with clinical staff on patient flow, late arrivals, and schedule changes.
•
Protect patient information and follow office privacy and documentation procedures.
Qualifications
•
At least one year of medical front desk experience in a multi-provider practice.
•
Working knowledge of EMR/PM systems, appointment scheduling, and insurance eligibility.
•
Clear, courteous communication with patients, providers, and coworkers.
•
Accurate data entry, cash handling, and attention to detail in a busy office.
•
Ability to manage competing priorities and protect confidential patient information.
