•Make and maintain patient appointments while helping ensure schedules are accurate and efficient.
•Greet and assist patients, creating a positive and professional first impression.
•Answer phone calls, respond to routine inquiries, take messages, and help patients navigate appointment needs.
•Support check-in and check-out processes and assist with administrative needs related to patient visits.
•File, scan, print, fax, and organize documents related to patient care and practice operations.
•Process billing forms, co-payments when required, and documentation for the medical record.
•Request patient medical records, laboratory results, and other information needed by the care team.
•Open and distribute mail or faxes and type forms, records, schedules, memos, and other materials as directed.
•Assist with messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results.
•Serve as a resource for scheduling, registration, and billing systems, including providing support or training to others as needed.
•Perform more complex or specialized functions, such as surgical scheduling or schedule changes, as appropriate for the department.
