As a Field Sales Representative, you’ll be the face of Nielsen, recruiting households to participate in Nielsen ratings. Our field sales representatives spend 75% or more of their week in the field driving to and recruiting homes to be part of the Nielsen ratings.
This role is a strong fit for someone with sales experience who enjoys meeting new people, working independently, and building trust quickly. If you have built relationships, met goals, and succeeded in customer-facing or public-facing work, this could be a great opportunity to bring those strengths into a field-based role. Candidates with backgrounds in outside sales, residential sales, in-home sales, retail sales, lead generation, canvassing, customer service, hospitality, restaurant service, community outreach, field interviewing, or other public-facing roles are encouraged to apply.
Candidates must reside in the Greater Akron/ Cleveland area to be considered for this position.
•
Drive to selected homes using a company-provided vehicle
•
Recruit statistically selected households unannounced and conduct in-person interviews
•
Explain participation clearly, build rapport, and encourage enrollment
•
Collect and enter household demographic and technical data accurately
•
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance procedures
•
Meet performance goals, quality standards, and customer satisfaction targets
•
Overnight stays may be required in another metro area based on business needs 50% of time
What are the qualifications?
•
High School Diploma/GED OR 2+ years equivalent work experience
•
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
•
Strong computer skills, including mobile devices and common workplace applications
•
Excellent communication and persuasion skills
•
Ability to communicate effectively in English for participant conversations, documentation, and safety-related interactions
•
Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends
•
Willingness and ability to travel overnight up to 50% of the time
•
Strong sales, customer service, relationship building, and organizational skills
•
Adaptability to adapt to a wide range of home and community environments while maintaining professionalism
•
Must be willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to be outside, in all weather conditions recruiting preselected residential addresses.

Be able to navigate stairs, elevators, walkways, and driveways (paved and unpaved) and a wide variety of entrances into people’s homes
•
Drive for extended periods, including up to 8 hours a day
•
stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
•
Kneel, bend, and move through residential entryways as needed
•
Ability to walk one-half mile
•
Ability to lift 20 pounds
