Who We’re Looking For
Requirements
We’re looking for independently licensed mental health therapists, counselors, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists who can provide therapy without supervision.
Depending on your state of licensure, eligible licenses may include:
Clinical Social WorkLCSW, LICSW, LSCSW, LISW, LISW-S, LISW-CP, LCSW-C, LCSW-R, LCSW-BACS, MSLCSW
Professional & Mental Health CounselingLPC, LMHC, LPCC, LCPC, LCMHC, LCMHCS, LCPCS, LPMHC, LIMHP, LMHP, LPC-MH, LPC-MHSP, MSLPC and other eligible independent clinical counseling licenses
Marriage & Family TherapyLMFT, LCMFT, MSLMFT
PsychologyLicensed Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, PsyD, PhD, LCP, LPP, MSPSY, Medical Psychologist, Senior Psychological Examiner, LPA-IP, Psychologist – Master’s, Psychologist – Doctorate
License eligibility varies by state. Your license must allow you to independently provide mental health therapy without supervision.
Requirements
•
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or another eligible mental health discipline
•
Current independent clinical license that allows you to provide therapy without supervision
•
3+ years of mental health counseling experience
•
Currently residing in the United States
•
Professional liability insurance
•
Reliable internet connection
•
Private, professional environment for virtual sessions
•
Strong written communication skills

Please note: BetterHelp currently requires an independent clinical license. Interns and clinicians who require supervision to provide therapy are not eligible at this time. Substance abuse counselors, school counselors, registered nurses, career counselors, Christian counselors, and business coaches are not eligible unless they also hold an eligible independent mental health license.
