About the company
8x8 connects our customers and teams globally, empowering CX leaders with performance and insights to make smarter decisions, delight customers, and drive lasting business impact.
About the role
As a Sales Support Specialist, you’ll be part of the dedicated team that Sales relies on for non-selling customer and deal requests. You’ll provide a prompt, accurate response to each one, so Account Managers can stay focused on driving revenue growth.
You’ll receive each request, determine what’s needed, and coordinate with the right teams, such as Billing, Order Desk, Renewals, Cancellations, and GRC/Legal, through to resolution. You’ll keep Account Managers and customers informed throughout, so that every request is tracked and closed out.
You’ll also help Revenue Operations make the process better. The more you learn about what Sales needs, the more you’ll shape the workflows, tools, and self-service resources that make support faster for everyone.
The impact of this role:
•
Gives Account Managers more time to sell by taking non-selling work off their plate.
•
Gives customers a faster, better-coordinated experience, which helps reduce churn.
•
Shows Revenue Operations where processes can be simpler, faster, or automated.
What you’ll do:
•
Be the first point of contact for non-selling requests from Sales, and log, prioritize, and track each one in the case management system.
•
Review each request, gather the details needed, and route it to the right team, such as Billing, Order Desk, Renewals, Cancellations, or GRC/Legal.
•
Follow up with partner teams and customers until the request is resolved, and keep records current along the way.
•
Keep Account Managers, customers, and other stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates.
•
Keep records accurate in Salesforce and other sales tools, and flag data issues you spot.
•
Share routine reports on request volume, turnaround time, and recurring issues.
•
Partner with Revenue Operations to improve workflows, processes, and tools as request volume grows.
•
Build and maintain knowledge base articles, templates, and process documents that support self-service.
•
Support special projects as needed, such as data clean-up, process rollouts, and issue resolution.
What you’ll bring:
•
1-3 years of experience in sales support, sales operations, customer support, order management, or a similar role.
•
Hands-on experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM or case management system.
•
Strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage many requests at once.
•
Clear written and verbal communication. You’ll be emailing and coordinating across teams every day.
•
A proactive, solution-first approach, with the ability to follow up with other teams without letting requests stall.
•
Ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as Billing, Order Desk, Renewals, Cancellations, and GRC/Legal, and across time zones.
•
Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and basic reporting.
Nice to have:
•
Experience supporting a B2B SaaS, Telecom, or XCaaS sales organization.
•
Familiarity with billing systems or post-sales support processes.
•
Experience writing knowledge base content or process documentation.
•
Experience using AI tools to streamline everyday work, such as drafting communications, summarizing requests, or building knowledge base content.
