Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Electrical Estimator to join our estimating team. This role is ideal for an individual interested in building a career in electrical construction and estimating. The successful candidate will assist senior estimators in preparing cost estimates for commercial, transportation, infrastructure, and public works projects throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Job Description
•
Assist with quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
•
Review electrical plans, bid documents, and contract specifications.
•
Help prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
•
Solicit and track pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
•
Assist in the preparation and submission of bid proposals.
•
Maintain bid logs, estimate files, and project documentation.
•
Support the estimating team during bid reviews and project handoffs.
•
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel.
•
Learn industry estimating software and company estimating procedures.
•
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the estimating department.
Requirements
•
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar preferred.
•
0-2+ years of experience in construction, electrical contracting, estimating, or a related field preferred.
•
Basic understanding of electrical construction and materials is a plus.
•
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
•
Strong mathematical and organizational skills.
•
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications is preferred.
•

Preferred Experience
•
Experience working for an electrical contractor.
