About the Opportunity

As a Finance & Strategy (Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A, Internal Audit, or Risk) Intern at FirstEnergy, you will have an impact on the team’s success. For the Summer 2027 session (May 17th to August 20th, 2027). This position would be on-site at our Headquarters in Akron, Ohio. Based on your academic discipline, as well as the department and projects you are assigned to, selected candidates may:
Responsibilities
•
Compose and input journal entries and analyze various general ledger accounts
•
Perform balance sheet reconciliations
•
Assist with month-end financial reporting
•
Assist with accounting research projects
•
Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial analysis
•
Contribute to improving current work processes and supporting documentation
•
Assist with various ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests
•
Collaborate with other departments within the Finance & Strategy Department to complete projects
Qualifications
•
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university/college with a major in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related discipline.
