The Department of Civil and Construction Engineering at Brigham Young University (BYU) (https://cce.byu.edu/) seeks applications from highly qualified candidates for three full-time positions in continuing-faculty-status tracks (similar to “tenure track” at other universities). Focus areas for this position may include, but are not limited to, geotechnical engineering, structural and materials engineering, computational mechanics, transportation and infrastructure systems, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, hydraulic engineering, hydrologic engineering, and related fields.

The department emphasizes experiential learning with an interdisciplinary approach to sustainably and ethically design, engineer, construct, and manage the built environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to contribute through high-quality teaching, mentorship, and a focused research agenda. Responsibilities include: 1) teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses within a focus area and supporting areas; 2) developing a robust, externally funded research program that includes mentoring graduate and undergraduate students and results in high-impact publications and products; and 3) contributing meaningfully to professional organizations and actively engaging in service roles within the department, college, and university.
