About the role
L’opportunité : Stage de 4 mois : janvier à avril (possibilité de prolongation jusqu’en août 2027).
L’équipe R&D des composants photoniques à haute vitesse, située à Québec, développe des dispositifs qui constituent une partie importante des systèmes optiques haute performance commercialisés par Ciena. Le stage au sein de l’équipe de validation de produits contribue au développement d’outils d’analyse de données utilisés pour la conception et la validation de composants photoniques à haute vitesse.
Comment vous contribuerez :
•
Développer des logiciels pour l’analyse de données.
•
Développer des pipelines pour la transformation et la présentation des données.
•
Collaborer étroitement avec les ingénieurs de validation afin de comprendre les besoins et de définir des solutions optimales.
Les incontournables :
•
Formation : Être activement inscrit(e) à un programme menant à un diplôme en génie ou dans un domaine connexe (électrique, physique, informatique),
•
Compétences en statistiques.
•
Aisance à apprendre de nouvelles technologies logicielles.
•
Connaissance d’un ou de plusieurs des langages suivants : Python, SQL, C#.
Atouts :
•
Expérience avec des outils de « big data ».
•
Capacité à travailler et à communiquer en français.

The Opportunity: Work term of 4 months starting in January 2027. (Possible extension until August 2027)
The high-speed photonics components R&D team is located in Quebec City and develops devices that are an important part of Ciena’s commercialized high-performance optical systems. This internship on the product validation team contributes to the development of data analysis tools used in the design and validation of high-speed photonic components.
How you will make an impact:
•
Develop software for data analysis.
•
Develop pipelines for data transformation and presentation.
•
Collaborate closely with validation engineers to understand needs and define optimum solutions.
The must haves:
•
Education: Actively enrolled in a degree program in engineering or similar (electrical, physic, computer),
•
Skills in statistics.
•
Comfort learning new software technologies.
•
Knowledge of one or many of the following languages: Python, SQL, C#.
Nice to haves:
•
Experience with big data tools.
•
Ability to work and communicate in French.
Pay Range:
The hourly pay range for this position is $25.50 to $35.00
