About us:
Aeva’s mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond. Aeva is transforming autonomy with its groundbreaking sensing and perception technology that integrates all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip in a compact module. Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Thermal Analysis Engineer to analyze thermal performance of our products and help optimize the design to improve thermal performance.
What you’ll do:
•
Developing and running thermal models of conduction, natural convection, and forced air cooled systems.
•
Providing design feedback via plots and screenshots of thermal behavior and air flow, along with recommendations for how to improve performance.
•
Designing convective thermal solutions including fans, heatsinks, and vapor chambers, along with conductive thermal solutions including TIMs and TECs.
What you have:
•
5+ years of experience with thermal analysis and modeling of complex systems including silicon packages, PCBs, and fans.
•
Proficiency modeling CFD in Siemens FloEFD including transient and steady state analysis.
•
Understanding of CFD model optimization for reducing run time (meshing strategy, feature resolution, understanding how different components affect the thermal stack, etc).
•
Experience debugging complex models with multiple boundary conditions including solar loading, pressure inlets/outlets, and fixed temperature cabinet walls.
•
Experience in designing, speccing, and implementing passive and active thermal management solutions.
•
