LRI, a Waste Connections Company, is hiring a highly experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at our Hidden Valley Transfer Station site in Puyallup, Washington. This demanding, hands-on role is ideal for professionals who excel in high-responsibility environments and are committed to safety, reliability, and technical excellence.
Compensation & Schedule
•
Hourly Pay: $35.00–$40.00, based on experience and certifications
•
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM
•
Overtime: Required as needed to meet operational demands
About the Role
This position involves complex diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of heavy diesel equipment. It is classified as safety-sensitive, meaning the work directly impacts the safety of personnel, equipment, and the public.
Key Responsibilities
•
Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on heavy diesel and yellow iron equipment
•
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
•
Troubleshoot and resolve issues from Operator Vehicle Inspection Reports
•
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
•
Communicate repair needs clearly and professionally
•
Follow all safety protocols and procedures without exception
Minimum Requirements
•
